Becoming an Outdoors-Family teaches skills for a lifetime of outdoor recreation. We'll introduce you to several outdoor activities, providing all the instruction and equipment you need to try it out for yourself. It's ideal for kids age 8 and up, but the whole family will enjoy spending time outside together, no matter their age.

Extended Stay
Campers that choose the extended stay option during registration  will check out on Sunday, June 18 at 4 p.m.

Schedule subject to change.


The program fee includes:

  • Electrical campsite for two nights.
  • Instruction in up to four outdoor skill classes.
  • Participation in group sessions and activities.
  • Program materials and use of equipment.
  • Program t-shirt for each family member.
Participants are responsible for providing their own campers or tents. Camping will be on designated sites. A park entrance license is also required.

  • Fish hatchery tour
  • Fishing
  • Birdwatching and identification
  • Watercraft exploration
  • Bird photography
  • Archery
  • Step Outside with air riffles and archery
  • Nature crafts

  • $75/family. Extend your reservation to include the following weekend for an additional $40.
